OUR STORY

The Solcz Family Foundation was founded by Michael G. Solcz (2024) and his wife, Doreen (2025), together with their four sons: Len, Marty, Michael Jr., and Mark. Deeply rooted in the Windsor-Essex community where the family was raised, works, and continues to live, the Solcz family has long been committed to supporting local charitable causes, with a particular focus on improving the lives of children, youth, and families.

As their philanthropic efforts evolved, the family recognized an opportunity to formalize this commitment through the establishment of a family foundation. Creating the Foundation allowed them not only to give back to the Windsor-Essex community in a more intentional and impactful way, but also to actively involve multiple generations of the family in philanthropy.

In September 2016, the Solcz Family Foundation was incorporated as a registered charity. In October 2017, the family began laying the groundwork for the Foundation’s grantmaking and governance practices. A Board of Directors, staff, and committees were established, intentionally engaging three generations of family members to guide the Foundation’s work. The Foundation was developed to support charities across the Windsor-Essex region that deliver programs and projects benefiting children, youth, and families.

Today, the Solcz Family Foundation continues to honour the legacy and intent of its founders by remaining deeply committed to the Windsor-Essex community and supporting charitable organizations that are making a meaningful and lasting difference for those in need.
